It is with great excitement that we announce the official reissue of a french folk true lost gem, Laurent ANGRAND and Patrick ROBIN’s MARE LA LANDE lp on FRANCE BIZARRE RECORDS and REGLIS RECORDS.
Originally released in 1974 on Palma and distributed by Arfolk in an unknown quantity (around 300 copies according to producer Richard LOURY), the duo parted ways right before the album was presented to the public which made it quite difficult to market at the time. Most of the pressing went to Artfolk, probably to remainder afterward and get lost in time and space…
MARE LA LANDE is a testimony that french folk from the 70’s could easily compete with their english and american counterparts. With the expressivity of a Bert Jansch, the vibe of a sunset sighting on Laurel Canyon and a peculiar french aftertaste, this record deserves to be put into light once again nearly 50 years after its first occurrence.
With the approval of Patrick ROBIN, Richard Loury, Arfolk and on behalf of the memory of Laurent ANGRAND, we’ve been working for the past few months on a reissue with original artwork and a brand new master for maximum sound and visual quality that encapsulated the greatness of this singular record.
