What’s the situation with USA shipments?
You may probably have noticed that shipments to USA orders have been suspended for the last 3-4 weeks in our site.
Postal services from various countries in the EU have suspended temporarily their shipments to USA due to the changes these are facing towards the aplication of tariffs.
Do we have any alternative?
Yes, our website allows to use courier services instead of Postal Services.
These services have higher prices than Postal services.
Do these prices mean that I already paid tariffs for my order?
No, you are only paying the shipping costs. Without any additional custom fees or tariffs.
Should orders including only vinyl records and/or CDs pay tariffs?
No, musical media can be considered as “informational materials”, which is protected by the First Ammendement of the USA Constitution and, therefore, these shouldn’t pay tariffs.
Does this mean I will not be charged with any additional tariff?
Well, not necessarily. We cannot guarantee that your local Courier agent will not charge you any tariff, because basically we have learnt that most of the people involved in deliveries in the USA don’t know much about the LP&CD exemption and they don’t want to learn. What we can actually guarantee is that we are going to prepare all paperwork for each and every shipment to make it very fully clear to US customs that they have to follow the rule for exemption of these goods.
Will Postal services ever be restored?
We are expecting Postal Office to restore USA shipments sometime “soon”. What we still don’t know is under which conditions this will be, and we’ll inform here when we know.
My last order is still in your facilities, can I change the shipping method?
Yes, please contact sales@guerssen.com if you want to change your shipping method.
Be aware that an extra charge will need to be paid, as the only alternative we have nowadays is the courier service.
And of course, if you prefer to cancel due to this unexpected situation, you can do so, just let us know.
