Istanbul-born psychedelic musician and producer Elektro Hafız’s fourth album, Style is Prison, features 12 tracks and numerous collaborations. The concept behind Style is Prison brings together a variety of genres and showcases artists from many different cultures. Elektro Hafız, a multidisciplinary psychedelic artist, crafted this album as a statement against musical categorization. The album includes collaborations with Nefeli Fasouli, Ben Büdü, Kardelen, Grup Ses, Gökalp K, Eleni Vratti, Fotini Kokkala, Onur Öztürk, Güntuğ Eren, Tobias Kreusler, Onofon, Jimi Leonidas, and Ein Punk Band.
During the production process, Elektro Hafız paid close attention to detail, emphasizing that he broke taboos for this album, refusing to adhere to a single genre. With sounds that sometimes evoke a village wedding and other times plunge into the depths of punk psychedelic, Hafız offers a journey through different cultures.
The album was recorded in Turkey, Greece, and Germany. Its mixing was done by Mert Kazak (3K1A) in Istanbul, Turkey, and the mastering was handled by Hamit Akbay.
Elektro Hafız took full responsibility for the production and release of this album, handling every aspect himself. Style is Prison will be the first album released under his newly founded label, Süpermalaka Records.
