Here comes an incredible FUSION JAZZ FUNK discovery on vinyl for the first time. From the vaults of mastermind GÜNTHER FISCHER came this unreleased outstanding RARE GROOVE material with breathtaking international high class JAZZ from 1974.

It is unbelievable that an East German band played and recorded such fresh modern electrified Jazz at this time.

In a perfect modern jazz line-up,Günther Fischer not only plays the SAXOPHON but also the SYNTHESIZER!

Wolfgang “Zicke” Schneider has been part of his solidly put together quintet since 1967, Fred Baumert on guitar since 1969. Mario Peters joined the quintet from the Klaus Lenz Band in 1974 and took over the FENDER RHODES ELECTRIC PIANO, which had previously been played by REINHARD LAKOMY. He contributed two compositions in the first year, which adorn this record.

On the double bass as well as electric bass guitar Wolfgang “Eddie” Greiser since 1971, who replaced Hans Schätzke.

Despite the fact that this highly sought-after and therefore mostly fully booked studio and stage band worked with greats such as MANFRED KRUG, Armin Müller Stahl and USCHI BRÜNING in the 1970s, these deep and funky inspired “Underground Jazz” as well as slightly psychedelic recordings were made and presented to select jazz concertgoers.Günther Fischer and his formation show here that, in addition to the popular SOUL JAZZ field, they are also in top form in the groovy, electric AVANT-GARDE ROCK-JAZZ niche and are playing in the absolute TOP LEAGUE.

These four tracks, at their high musical level, are a unique discovery, which already now belong to the Holy Grail of 1970s jazz and make Günther Fischer immortal in the East German and international Fusion-Rock-Jazz-Funk scene.
