A dozen prime cuts from Jamaica’s finest, this compilation spans ska and rocksteady rhythms courtesy of The Maytals, Don Drummond, Tommy McCook, and more. From Drummond’s smoky, trombone-led themes to The Maytals’ soulful vocal groups, the collection captures the depth and range of the island’s golden era sound. A true dancefloor-and-listening record in equal measure, this reissue on red vinyl brings together some of the most beloved names of vintage Jamaican music in one essential package.
