ASHHOLLOW, the band, formed in 1973, Oklahoma USA. After some personnel changes they took their final form in 1975 with Bill Kirtley: vocals, guitar, Mike Stewart: vocals, guitar, Mike Hanna: vocals, bass and Gary Bruce: drums.
They played locally in clubs and concerts and had their own compositions written by all 4 members. Besides the original material (most of it, is presented here) they played a variety of covers by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, CSN&Y, Kansas etc.
Their music is ranged between hard rock with many psych underground vibes and progressive rock with jazzy overtones. Wishbone Ash, Primevil, Majic Ship, Hard Meat, even quieter and less polished Ashbury come in mind…
This album was made from an original reel-to-reel tape, recorded on January 30, 1976. All live in the studio with no overdubs. The tape contains 11 songs in total but we used only the 9 of them because of vinyl limitations. Soon after the recordings, ASHHOLLOW came to a halt.
