Mystical apocalyptic private press acid folk
If you didn’t know better, you might think that Walker Phillips is Elven and from Middle Earth. His first solo opus "My Love Sunday" is lyrically ornamented with the rich mystical imageries of Romantic poetry, Gnosticism, Alchemy and fairy tales, while the musical settings venture from medieval troubadour to boldly experimental and back again. Phillips creates a dark, whimsical, magical, lysergic loner world – imagine if The Incredible String Band had joined the Process Church instead of the Church of Scientology. Walker Phillips lives in San Francisco where he records in his home studio using only analog tape and vintage instruments.

"An apocalyptic and casually spiritual journey through a neo–occult–psych–folk lens, full of pop hooks and at times Cohen–esque writing. If David Tibet made folk music at the height of the psychedelic 60s it might sound something like this."
